This Is a Private Reference, Not a Custodian. We cannot pull records, certify copies, verify a current address, or change a government roll. Requests for those actions belong with the office named below. For an emergency, call 911. If you believe you are being stalked or harassed, contact local police.

Where a West Hollywood Record Request Belongs

The right contact depends on the record type. The main routes for West Hollywood are:

  • Street and parcel questions: use the West Hollywood Streets page for the Assessor, GIS, deed, tax, and permit paths.
  • Old directory volumes: use the West Hollywood City Directory collections at Los Angeles Public Library.
  • One person or case: use the West Hollywood Resident Lookup page for court, vital, probate, license, and identity-matching rules.
  • Records not online: send a focused request under the California Public Records Act to the city or county custodian that holds the existing record.
  • Immediate danger: call 911 or contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department West Hollywood Station through its official channel.

County contact routes

Counter and virtual appointments for city property assistance are offered Monday through Friday in 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. windows, with one property per 30-minute appointment. Confirm current hours before travel. Building and Safety is (323) 848-6320, Planning is (323) 848-6475, and Code Enforcement is (323) 848-6516. The city directory of services is the best place to confirm a department line. Current online applications use Tyler EnerGov self-service. The county recorder's telephone menu uses option 3 for recorded real-estate records and option 1 for birth, death, and marriage questions.

Describe an existing record, not a request that staff create a new analysis. Include the date range, street address or AIN, permit or case number if known, department, and preferred format. The California Public Records Act normally gives an agency 10 days to determine whether disclosable records exist, with a possible 14-day extension for unusual circumstances. That is not a promise that a large production will be finished in ten days.
